Matar a saudade
Leave and never return. Follow your flow and follow your desire. Under the guidance of choreographer Julia Heider five dancers of
Die Aktiven explore their own migration process and share their unforgettable adventures. Which memories of home are you taking with you? What happens when you go beyond borders? Why does the grass always seems to be greener on the other side, no matter where you are?
Dance theatre performance Matar a saudade gives an intriguing view of the life of an emigrant, his concerns and his desires.
Julia finds inspiration in interpersonal and cultural themes. During her time living in Israel , she was exposed to the compexity and rigidity of the geopolitical situation, time and time agaian; especially the injustice of travellling and living freely. And these experiences have inspired her work.
Borders represent important values of identity of people and demarcate the sovereignty of governments. Because of this tension between borders as 'meeting-places' and as 'cut-off lines', the role of borders has become an interesting topic to investigate. What if the complexity of borders could develop through research of movement boundaries?
