Hi, I am Julia Heider an artist educator based in the Netherlands, applying movement and dance as a creative medium. I am extremely driven to analyse not only artistic processes but also societal, scientific or even behavioural processes.

Movement By Oceans uses oceanographic data as a source for new performances, manifesting music and dance from natural origins. In collaboration with dutch composer Stef Veldhuis, the first interdisciplinary piece was created using data collected in the Arctic Ocean.

An inclusive site-specific dance theatre performance researching the tension between geopolitical borders as 'meeting-places' and as 'cut-off lines'. What if the complexity of borders could be researched through an investigation of movement boundaries and limited space?

The greek goddes of eternal spring and underworld Perspehone symbolizes to me the duality of reality and the archetypical inner world of the human psyche. To honour our inner dark world a grotesque and contradictory world evokes on stage, filled with absurdity, poetry and unfiltered physicality.

A dynamic and articulated solo created together with choreographer Fernanda Silva. The solo expresses the desire to attune ourselves more to our bodies, instead of being stuck in our heads and thoughts.
